From ants and spiders to rodents and mosquitoes, Mira handles the pests that get into your home. We treat inside and out, and every treatment is applied with care for your kids and pets.
How We Treat
Pests don’t care where “inside” ends and “outside” begins, so we don’t treat your home that way either. Every Mira service covers the inside, where pests live and travel, and the outside, where they get in. Here’s what that actually looks like.
Your first visit starts with an inspection, so we know what’s active and how it’s getting in. From there we tailor the treatment to your home instead of running the same script everywhere.
Kids & Pets
The two questions we hear most before a visit are “what actually happens?” and “is it safe for my family and pets?” Here are honest answers to both.
A technician inspects your home, finds the pests and where they’re getting in, and applies targeted treatments inside and out. Most routine services take 1 to 2 hours, and you’ll get a rundown of what was done and what to keep an eye on.
Treatments are applied with care and according to the product label directions. The usual guidance is to keep children and pets off treated surfaces until they’re dry, and there are a few simple things you can do before and after a visit to make it easier:
If someone in the house needs extra consideration, whether that’s a pregnant family member, a pet on medication, or a child with sensitivities, just tell us when you book. Our technicians can adjust how and where they treat.

The Re-Service Promise
Pest control works on a cycle, and sometimes activity picks back up between your scheduled treatments. If that happens, you don’t wait and you don’t pay extra. Call us and we’ll come back out to re-treat at no additional charge.
It’s part of every Mira service plan: regular scheduled treatments, plus re-service in between whenever you need it.
Pests We Treat
Mira treats more than 20 kinds of household pests across our markets. Here are six of the most common: what they do, where they hide, and how we handle them.
Most spiders are harmless, but nobody wants them in the house, and a spider problem is usually a sign that something else is feeding them. Mira’s spider control targets the corners, eaves, basements, and crawl spaces where spiders settle. We clear existing webbing during the service and treat the entry points around your home to deal with whatever’s drawing them inside.
Roaches multiply fast and hide in places that are hard to reach. Treatment targets the spots they shelter in, under appliances, behind cabinets, and around plumbing, along with the entry points they use to find food and moisture. The kitchen and other high-activity zones get extra attention.
Ants travel in numbers, and a few on the counter usually means a colony nearby. The right treatment depends on the species, so we identify the type of ant, trace the trails, and treat the problem at its source while handling the trails and entry points inside the home.
Stinging pests turn a yard into a no-go zone, and they get defensive fast. We treat active nesting areas and the spots on your home’s exterior where wasps and hornets like to build: eaves, soffits, behind shutters, and under decks. Then we treat the conditions that keep drawing them back.
Rodents chew, contaminate food and surfaces, and breed quickly. Because rodents slip through small gaps, we focus on the entry points they use to get in, the routes they travel and nest along, and targeted treatment inside and out to bring the population down and keep new ones from following.
Mosquitoes can keep you out of your own backyard for half the year. To break that cycle, we target the resting and breeding areas around your property, the shaded vegetation, the standing water, and the humid spots they shelter in, to bring the pressure down through the season.

Local Presence
Mira isn’t a call center that routes you to a stranger. We work in 14 markets across the Southeast, Midwest, and Mountain West, with local technicians who know the pests, the climate, and the conditions where you live. A spider problem in Atlanta isn’t the same as one in Cleveland, and we treat them accordingly.

Most homes do best on a regular schedule, with re-service in between as needed. The right frequency comes down to the pests, the season, and your area. We’ll recommend a schedule that fits what’s actually happening at your home.
Treatments are applied with care and according to the product label directions. The standard guidance is to keep children and pets off treated surfaces until they’re dry. If you have specific concerns, tell us when you book and our technicians can adjust how and where they treat.
“Exterminator” usually means a one-time treatment for an active infestation. “Pest control” is the ongoing, preventive side: regular service that keeps pests from getting established in the first place. Mira does both, and the right approach depends on what you’re dealing with.
For most routine exterior treatments, no. You can stay home and go about your day. For interior work, you may want to step out of treated rooms until the surfaces dry. Your technician will tell you what to expect when they arrive.
