Ant Control Services

A trail of ants across the counter is rarely just a few ants. It usually means a colony has found its way in and started a steady route between the nest and your home. Mira treats the trail you can see and the colony you can’t, with care for the kids and pets who live there.

Why Ants

Why ants are hard to clear on your own

Store-bought spray kills the ants you can see. The problem is the ones you can’t. Most of the colony stays hidden behind a wall, under the foundation, or out in the yard, and as long as the nest is active, new ants keep coming.

Some species will even split the colony and scatter when they sense a threat, which can turn a small problem into several. That’s why ant control works best aimed at the source: treat the trails and entry points inside, then the exterior and the nest itself, so the colony stops being resupplied instead of just thinned out for a week.

How We Treat

How Mira treats ants

Inspect

We identify the species and trace the activity, since different ants nest in different places and respond to different treatments.

Treat inside & out

We follow the trails indoors, then work the perimeter, foundation, and the entry points ants actually use to get in.

Re-service

If ants come back between visits, so do we, at no extra charge.

Inside, we follow the trails to where ants are traveling and gathering, the kitchen first since that’s usually where they’re headed, along with the other living areas where you’re seeing them. Treating along the trails and entry points indoors handles the ants already in the house.

Outside is where the problem gets solved, because that’s where ants come from: a granular treatment around the yard’s perimeter, a spray along the foundation, and the cracks and gaps where they slip inside. The inside work clears today’s ants; the perimeter and entry-point work stops the next wave.

Kids & Pets

Is ant treatment safe for kids and pets?

Treatments are applied with care and according to the product label directions. The usual guidance is to keep children and pets off treated surfaces until they’re dry, and there are a few simple things you can do before and after a visit to make it easier:

If someone in the house needs extra consideration, whether that’s a pregnant family member, a pet on medication, or a child with sensitivities, just tell us when you book. Our technicians can adjust how and where they treat.

The Re-Service Promise

Ants Back Between Visits? So Are We.

Ant pressure rises and falls with the season, and sometimes activity picks back up between your scheduled treatments. If that happens, you don’t wait and you don’t pay extra. Call us and we’ll come back out to re-treat at no additional charge.

It’s part of every Mira service plan: regular scheduled treatments, plus re-service in between whenever you need it.

Not sure what kind of ants you have?

A few ants on the counter and a swarm of winged ants by the window can mean very different things, and the right treatment depends on knowing which is which. Our ants pest library breaks down the common types, what they’re after, and how to tell them apart.

Ant control across 14 markets

Ants don’t behave the same everywhere we work. Fire ants are a real concern across Georgia and Florida, while homeowners further north deal more with odorous house ants and pavement ants indoors. FAQs

Ant Control FAQs

How much does ant control cost?

It depends on your home, the type of ant, and how established the problem is. Rather than guess, we’ll give you a real number for your situation. Request a free quote and you’ll know what it costs before you commit to anything.

How long does it take to clear ants?

You’ll usually see activity drop within the first several days as the treatment works through the trails and back to the colony. Because the nest is the real target, the full picture takes a little longer, which is why ongoing service and re-treatment matter for keeping them from coming back.

Are ant treatments safe for kids and pets?

Treatments are applied with care and according to the product label directions. The standard guidance is to keep children and pets off treated surfaces until they’re dry. If you have specific concerns, tell us when you book and our technicians can adjust the approach.

Why do I keep getting ants even after I clean?

Clean homes get ants too. Once a trail is established, ants keep following it whether or not there’s food out, and the colony outside keeps sending more. Treating the trail and the source is what actually breaks the cycle.
